Details: Fieldwork on Fishers Island was canceled due to rain. The team remained in New London and worked on completing their employment training course required by Tarleton State University.

Details: The team will be continuing invasive species removal work and also installing bat recording devices for acoustic monitoring. Field training and setup supported Walker’s independent bat research project, which will collect echolocation data to identify species on the island.

Details: The team will be conducting vegetation and insect transect surveys as part of their training in field data collection methods. They will also continue invasive species removal efforts in designated areas of the Parade Grounds.

Details: The team will continue vegetation and insect transect surveys to strengthen their sampling skills and begin building baseline data. Invasive species removal efforts will also continue throughout the afternoon in areas identified during the week’s fieldwork.

Details: The team will not be on Fishers Island today. Instead, they will be visiting a Connecticut museum for a full-day educational field trip starting mid-morning.

Details: The team will be participating in the June 2025 Bird Count, contributing to long-term monitoring of avian species on Fishers Island. This effort supports biodiversity tracking and provides students with experience in bird identification
